Prof. Nicholas Athanassiou
Nicholas Athanassiou is an Associate Professor and General Management Group and Group Coordinator in International Business. Prior to joining the College of Business Administration faculty, Professor Athanassiou served as a visiting professor at the University of South Carolina and a lecturer at the University of Maryland’s International Business Management Institute in Tokyo. He has also held a number of senior executive postions in the United States, Japan, Europe, and the Middle East with Pepsico, Kentucky Fried Chicken International, and Heublein, Inc. A member of the Academy of International Business, the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society, and The Institute of Management Sciences, Professor Athanassiou has research interest in international business strategy, with a focus on the international business capabilities of top management teams.
Professor Athanassiou holds a BS degree from the Naval Academy of Greece, an MS from Georgia Institute of Technology, an MBA from University of Michigan, and a PhD from the University of South Carolina. He was named Academic Coordinator and Program Director of the College's Bachelor of Science in International Business program in 2003.
